KEF Q7 Meta 3-way Bass Reflex Floorstanding Speakers are designed to offer exceptional sound quality for audiophiles and home theater enthusiasts alike. Utilizing the same Metamaterial Absorption Technology (MAT™) found in the larger Q11 Meta, the Q7 Meta ensures a high level of acoustic purity by absorbing unwanted high-frequency distortion. This innovation is combined with KEF’s 12th-generation Uni-Q driver array, which ensures that the high and midrange frequencies are delivered with stunning clarity and accuracy. The three-way bass reflex design and hybrid aluminium cone drivers further enhance the speaker’s ability to produce deep, powerful bass, making it an ideal choice for larger rooms or dynamic soundscapes.
Metamaterial Absorption Technology (MAT™)
The KEF Q7 Meta incorporates Metamaterial Absorption Technology (MAT™), a groundbreaking feature that enhances the acoustic purity of the listening experience. MAT™ consists of a highly complex maze-like structure that efficiently absorbs specific frequencies, eliminating 99% of unwanted sound that emanates from the rear of the tweeter. This technology acts as an acoustic black hole, removing distortion and allowing the speakers to produce a sound that is incredibly pure and natural. The inclusion of MAT™ in the Q7 Meta ensures that high-frequency sounds are delivered with unprecedented clarity and detail, making this speaker ideal for discerning listeners who crave a true-to-life audio presentation.
Hybrid Aluminium Cone LF Driver for Deep and Powerful Bass
The KEF Q7 Meta is equipped with hybrid aluminium cone low-frequency (LF) drivers, designed to deliver deep, powerful bass with exceptional control. The hybrid structure of these drivers combines the strength and rigidity of aluminium with the flexibility of a paper cone. This combination ensures that the drivers move in a piston-like fashion, producing bass that is both tight and punchy, without the risk of distortion even at high volumes. The deep bass response adds a rich, resonant low-end to any audio experience, whether you're listening to music or enjoying a high-octane action film.
In addition to the hybrid cone design, the LF drivers are part of the Q7 Meta’s three-way bass reflex system, which allows the bass to operate independently of the midrange and high frequencies. This separation ensures that the bass doesn’t muddy the overall sound, resulting in a balanced audio performance across all frequencies. For those who enjoy impactful, room-filling bass, the Q7 Meta delivers with precision, power, and depth. Whether it's the low-end thump of a bass guitar or the rumbling explosion in a movie, the Q7 Meta ensures that the bass is always rich, clear, and controlled.

Flexible Decoupling Chassis for Reduced Sound Coloration
The KEF Q7 Meta employs a Flexible Decoupling Chassis, an innovative design first used in KEF’s flagship Blade and Reference loudspeakers. This chassis dramatically reduces sound coloration caused by midrange vibration transmission to the cabinet. By isolating the massive midrange motor from the Uni-Q driver array, the chassis dissipates vibrations before they can reach the cabinet and be radiated as unwanted sound. This design ensures that the midrange frequencies remain clean and accurate, free from distortion caused by cabinet vibrations.
In traditional speaker designs, vibrations from the driver basket can create additional unwanted sounds, compromising the clarity and purity of the audio. The Flexible Decoupling Chassis in the Q7 Meta addresses this issue by decoupling the Uni-Q driver array from the cabinet itself, leading to a more transparent and natural sound. This reduction in midrange colorations enhances the overall audio performance, ensuring that listeners hear the most authentic reproduction of the original recording. This feature is particularly beneficial in delivering detailed vocals and crisp instrumentals, making the Q7 Meta ideal for those who prioritize sonic purity in their listening experience.
